AB3 | AB19 IP30 & SR61B Battery Instructions Caution: For the AB19 battery used with the IP30NI and SR61BNI, battery replacement, charging, and installation must only occur in areas known to be nonhazardous. Using the AB3 and AB19 Batteries These lithium-ion batteries are designed for use in these products: yy Model IP30, IP30NI yy Model SR61, SR61B, SR61BNI Charging the Battery Before using your IP30 or SR61B, you need to fully charge the battery. Batteries can be charged after a partial discharge without affecting the original battery capacity. A fully discharged battery charges in approximately 3 to 4 hours. You can charge the AB3 or AB19 battery with these accessories: yy AC5 1-Bay Charger yy AC6 2-Bay Charger yy AC7 4-Bay Charger yy AC8 8-Bay Charger yy AC20 Quad Charger (with adapter P/N 871-233-001) yy AD20 Single Charger (with adapter P/N 871-233-001) For more information about IP30 or SR61B charging accessories, see the instructions that ship with the accessory. Important Recommendations yy Charge the battery immediately before use or within a couple of days of use. yy Use the Intermec battery AB3 or AB19 only with an IP30 or R61B. Use of this battery in other devices could result in damage to the device or battery. yy The temperature range for charging batteries is 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) for the 1-bay charger and 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F) for the 2-bay, 4-bay, and 8-bay chargers. For maximum battery life, charge batteries at 23°C (73°F). yy Do not store the battery at temperatures above 60°C (140°F), such as inside a car on a hot day or in direct sunlight, as this may damage the battery. yy Battery usage by children should be supervised. yy Do not disassemble or open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred or dispose of in fire. yy Do not solder directly to the battery contacts. yy Do not immerse the battery in water or get the battery wet. yy Do not short circuit the battery, and keep it away from metallic items. yy Do not drop the battery or apply mechanical shocks or pressure to it. yy Avoid dropping the battery or the IP30 or SR61B. If you suspect that the battery or IP30 or SR61B is damaged, send it to an Intermec service center for inspection. yy Replace battery only with another AB3 or AB19 battery. This battery has been tested in accordance with applicable safety standards. Contact your Intermec sales representative or distributor is this battery is no longer available.
