SECTION 4-SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING SYMPTOM Joystick erratic or does not respond as desired. PROBABLE CAUSE Damaged motor coupling. Electrical malfunction. Controller programmed improperly. Wheelchair does not respond to commands. Power indicator OFF-even after recharging. Poor battery terminal connection. Electrical malfunction. SOLUTIONS Contact Dealer/Invacare for Service. Contact Dealer/Invacare for Service. Reprogram controller. (Refer to electronics manual supplied with wheelchair). Clean terminals (Refer to Cleaning Battery Terminals on page 101). Contact Dealer/Invacare for Service. Wheelchairs with Powered Seating Systems SYMPTOM Wheelchair Power ON but does not drive Seating system not functioning or working intermittently. Programmer does not work or gives "communication error" Wheelchair drives at reduced speed. PROBABLE CAUSE SOLUTIONS System tilted, reclined or elevated beyond drive lock-out angle (20°). Return to neutral position (upright and completely lowered). Refer to Operating Powered Seating Systems on page 50. Contact Invacare/Dealer for service if this does not solve the problem. Low batteries. Charge batteries. Faulty electrical connection. Check all connections. Blown fuse. Have wiring harness replaced by a qualified technician. Seat has been driven Allow time for the electronics to cool down (Light Duty under a heavy load for an Use). extended period of time.
