Changing the Menu Settings (Continued) Menus Settings: [ ] = Factory-preset BASIC SETTINGS Select [BASIC SETTINGS], then select sub-menus.  QUICK RESTART Enables the camera to start up quickly when you turn the power off and then on again within five minutes by closing and opening the LCD monitor. ("Power-linked operation" ੬ pg. 12) OFF: Disables the function. [ON]: Activates the function. NOTES • This function is not available during charging. • You can reset the setting by pressing and holding the power button. • Access/charge lamp blinks when this function is activated and the camera is turned off. # MONITOR BRIGHT Enables you to set the brightness of the LCD monitor. Adjust the brightness of the display by using the touch sensor. $ MONITOR BACKLIGHT Enables you to adjust the brightness of backlight on the monitor. BRIGHTER / STANDARD / [AUTO] NOTE When you select [AUTO], the brightness will automatically be set to [BRIGHTER] when you use the camera outdoors and to [STANDARD] when you use the camera indoors.  REC MEDIA FOR VIDEO Enables you to set the recording medium for videos. [HDD] / SD  REC MEDIA FOR IMAGE Enables you to set the recording medium for still images. [HDD] / SD  DATE DISPLAY STYLE Enables you to set the date and time display format. DATE STYLE: year.month.day / [month.day.year] / day.month.year TIME: 24h / [12h]  LANGUAGE Enables you to set the display language. (੬ pg. 17) You have a choice of 7 languages. (੬ pg. 72) The default language is [ENGLISH]. ? DROP DETECTION Prevents damage to the HDD by turning off the power automatically when the camera detects that it has been dropped. OFF: Disables the function. [ON]: Activates the function. To turn the unit on when the drop detection worked, close the LCD monitor and open it again. NOTE Setting this function to off increases the risk of damaging the built-in hard disk if the camera is accidentally dropped. > REMOTE Turns reception of the operation signal from the remote control on/off.
