Resetting the Unit

English CAUTIONS: • When not using the unit for a long time (more than two weeks) or when always using on household AC, remove the batteries to avoid a malfunction or damage to the unit. • When the JVC power cord provided with this unit is connected, the power is automatically switched from the batteries to the household AC even when the batteries are inserted. Remove the batteries when using the power cord. When the batteries are nearly exhausted, every time the unit is used, the power will be turned off after about 1 minute. When making an important recording, use new batteries (preferably alkaline batteries with a longer service life) to avoid any possible failure. Resetting the Unit If normal operations are disabled, reset the unit. 1 Turn off the power. 2 Press the RESET button on the rear of the unit with the tip of a small screwdriver or similar object. For better battery usage Continuous operation of the unit causes the battery power to be consumed quicker than noncontinuous operation. Operation of the unit in a cold place causes the battery power to be consumed more quickly than in a warm place. • For power supply, the use of household AC is recommended, when continuous operation of the unit is required over a longer period of time. To operate on a car battery Use an optional exclusive car adapter (JVC model CA-R120) to connect the DC IN 12V jack on the rear of the unit to a cigarette lighter socket of a car. 3 Turn on the power. 4 Set the clock. (See page 9.) If necessary, preset the desired stations again. (See page 11.) -8 -
