NORMAL SOUNDS YOU MAY HEAR The following sounds may be heard whilethe washer is operating. They are normal. Clicking: Door lock relay when the door locks and unlocks. Spraying or hissing: Water spraying or circulating during the cycle. Humming or gurgling: Drain pump pumping water from the washer at the end of a cycle. Splashing: Clothes tumbling in the drum during the wash and rinse cycles. BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE Your washing machine is equipped with an automatic error-monitoring system to detect and diagnose problems at an early stage. If your washer does not function properly or does not function at all, check the following before you call for service. Rattling and clanking noise Check if... Then... I Foreign objects, such as keys, coins, or safety pins, may be I Stop washer and check drum and drain filter for foreign objects. If I in drum or pump. Pause the cycle and redistribute the load after the door unlocks. See Leveling the Washer in the Installation Instructions on page 11. Make sure that the floor is solid and does not flex. See Flooring in the Installation Requirements on page 7. Water leaking around washer Check if... Fill hose connection is loose at tap or washer. House drain pipes are clogged. Drain hose has come out of drain. Drain hose is not inserted far enough, Then... Check hoses. Check and tighten hose connections. Unclog drain pipe. Contact a plumber if necessary. Tie drain hose to inlet hose or standpipe to prevent it from coming out during drain. It should be inserted about 8-12 inches into the standpipe. Excessive sudsing Check if... I Too much detergent or incorrect detergent. Only use detergent with the liE (High-Efficiency) logo. See Detergent Use in the How to Use section on page I 16-17. 25
