Using the advanced features ■ Larger f-stop numbers indicate a smaller lens opening; keeps the main subject sharp; good for landscapes and well-lit conditions. Shutter speed-control how long the shutter stays open. Exposure Compensation-adjust the exposure; good for controlling backlit or non-standard scenes. If the picture is too light, decrease the setting; if it's too dark, increase the setting. ISO speed-adjust the camera's sensitivity to light. Higher ISO indicates greater sensitivity. (ISO 3200 and 6400 available only in 3.1 MP and lower picture size in P and M modes.) NOTE: A higher ISO may produce unwanted grain or "noise" in a picture. Focus mode-select a large or concentrated area of focus. Focus mode Description Normal AF Focus setting for general picture-taking. Macro Sharpness and detail in pictures at close range. Use available light instead of flash, if possible. The camera automatically sets the focus distance depending on the zoom position. The close-up distances are: Wide angle: 7.9-27.6 in. (0.2-0.7 m) Telephoto: 19.7-39.4 in. (0.5-1.0 m) Infinity Distant subjects. Auto-focus framing marks are unavailable. Manual Focus is at center position. control how long the shutter stays open.
Exposure Compensation—
adjust the exposure; good for controlling backlit or
non-standard scenes. If the picture is too light, decrease the setting; if it’s too dark,
increase the setting.
