Doing more with your camera Scene modes 1 Turn the Mode dial to Scene . 2 Press to select a Scene mode. NOTE: If the Help text turns off, press the OK button. 3 Press the OK button to close the selection process. Use this SCN mode For Portrait Full-frame portraits of people. Use telephoto to reduce focus of distracting backgrounds. Landscape Distant subjects. Flash does not fire unless you turn it on. Auto-focus framing marks (page 8) are not available in Landscape. Night Distant scenery at night. Flash does not fire. Place the camera on a flat, Landscape steady surface or use a tripod. Self- Close-ups of yourself. Assures proper focus and minimizes red eye. Portrait Flower Sunset Close-ups of flowers or other small subjects in bright light. Focus is set to Macro AF (page 26). Preserves the deep hues seen in sunsets. Backlight Subjects that are in shadow or "backlit" (when light is behind the subject). Candle Captures the ambiance of candle light. light Manner/ Quiet occasions, like a wedding or lecture.
