Maintaining the printer 114 Using the personal identification number (PIN) method 1 From the control panel, navigate to: > Settings > > Network/Ports > > Wireless > 2 Select Wi‑Fi Protected Setup, and then press . 3 Select Start PIN Method, and then press . 4 Copy the eight‑digit WPS PIN. 5 Open a web browser, and then type the IP address of your access point in the address field. Notes: • View the printer IP address on the printer home screen. The IP address appears as four sets of numbers separated by periods, such as 123.123.123.123. • If you are using a proxy server, then temporarily disable it to load the web page correctly. 6 Access the WPS settings. For more information, see the documentation that came with your access point. 7 Enter the eight‑digit PIN, and then save the changes. Notes: • Perform this task after every few months. • Damage to the printer caused by improper handling is not covered by the printer warranty. 1 Turn off the printer, and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. 2 Remove paper from the standard bin and multipurpose feeder. 3 Remove any dust, lint, and pieces of paper around the printer using a soft brush or vacuum. 4 Wipe the outside of the printer with a damp, soft, lint‑free cloth.
