Replacing the CPU

Step 9. Remove the EMI cover. Refer to "Removing the EMI cover". Step 10. Remove the heat-sink. Refer to "Replacing the heat sink". Step 11. Remove the screw that secures camera to the front bezel. Step 12. Lift up the camera and disconnect the data cable from the camera. 1 2 Step 13. Remove the two screws that secure the camera to the bracket, then put aside the bracket. Step 14. To install the new camera: a. Line up the new camera with the bracket, then secure the camera to the bracket with the two screws. b. Connect the data cable to the new camera. c. Line up the holes in the new camera with the mounting holes on the front bezel and secure it with the screw. Step 15. Reattach the heat-sink, EMI cover, middle cover, optical drive, stand holder, foot cover and stand base. Replacing the CPU Note: Turn off the computer and wait 3 to 5 minutes to let it cool down before removing the cover. Note: It may be helpful to place the computer face-down on a soft flat surface for this procedure. Remove any media (disks, CDs, DVDs, or memory cards) from the drives, shut down the operating system, and turn off the computer and all attached devices. Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets. Disconnect all cables attached to the computer. This includes power cords, input/output (I/O) cables, and any other cables that are connected to the computer. Step 9.

Step 11. Remove the screw that secures camera to the front bezel.
Step 12. Lift up the camera and disconnect the data cable from the camera.
Step 13. Remove the two screws that secure the camera to the bracket, then put aside the bracket.
Step 14. To install the new camera:
a.
Line up the new camera with the bracket, then secure the camera to the bracket with the
two screws.
b.
Connect the data cable to the new camera.
c.
Line up the holes in the new camera with the mounting holes on the front bezel and secure it
with the screw.
Step 15. Reattach the heat-sink, EMI cover, middle cover, optical drive, stand holder, foot cover and stand
base.
Replacing the CPU
Note:
Turn off the computer and wait 3 to 5 minutes to let it cool down before removing the cover.

To replace the CPU
Step 1.
Remove any media (disks, CDs, DVDs, or memory cards) from the drives, shut down the operating
system, and turn off the computer and all attached devices.
Step 2.

Step 3.

and “Rear view” for help with locating the various connectors.
Step 4.
Remove the stand base. Refer to “Removing the stand base”.
