Increasing Memory Capacity Increasing Memory Capacity Increasing memory capacity is an effective way to make programs run faster. You can increase the amount of memory in your computer by installing a dual inline memory module (DIMM), available as an option. Different capacities of DIMM (up to 64 MB) are available. You can install a DIMM directly in the memory slot on the bottom of the computer. Your computer memory capacity can be expanded up to 96 MB (32-MB base memory and a 64-MB DIMM option). 1 Turn off the computer; then disconnect the AC Adapter and all cables from the computer. 2 Turn the computer over and remove the battery pack. 3 Loosen the screw on the memory slot cover and remove the cover. 40 IBM ThinkPad 380XD/385XD User's Guide
