To use the Fn function key combinations, press and hold the Fn key 1 ; then press one of the function keys 2 . Release both keys. The following is a brief introduction to the function key combinations. Volume keys To adjust the volume from your computer, do the following: • Fn+F1: Decrease the speaker volume. • Fn+F2: Increase the speaker volume. • Fn+Esc: Mute the speaker. Microphone mute (Fn+F3) Mute the microphone. Power conservation (Fn+F4) Put your computer into sleep mode. To return to normal operation, press the Fn key only. Wireless radio control key combination (Fn+F5) Press this key combination to enable or disable the built-in wireless networking features. Changing the camera settings (Fn+F6) • On the Windows 7 operating system, press Fn+F6 to open the camera and audio settings window. The camera preview is turned on. Change the camera and audio settings as desired. • On the Windows 8 operating system, press Fn+F6 to launch the Lenovo Settings program. Then click Camera or Audio to change the settings as desired. Switching the display output location (Fn+F7) Press this function key combination to switch between the computer display and an external monitor. The following options will be displayed: • PC screen only • Duplicate • Extend • Second screen only Note: To switch between the computer display and an external monitor, the Windows+P key combination also is available. Adjusting display brightness level (Fn+F8/F9) You can temporarily change the computer display brightness level by pressing the two key combinations. When you press Fn+F9, the computer display becomes brighter. When you press Fn+F8, the computer display becomes dimmer.
