When you turn them back on, the desktop printer spooler may attempt to start printing the job that was in the queue before the computer locked up. This could cause your system to lock up again. Recovering when your computer stops responding
If your computer locks up while your document is printing, you may need to turn off the printer
and the computer. When you turn them back on, the desktop printer spooler may attempt to
start printing the job that was in the queue before the computer locked up. This could cause
your system to lock up again.
One way to recover from this problem is to:

Disconnect the printer cable from your computer.

Restart your computer.
