The 4-Station CPU Switch's Rear Panel ProConnect® Series Power Console ports CPU ports The Power Port is where you will connect the included Power Adapter. When using this CPU Switch alone, a monitor, keyboard, and mouse are plugged into these ports. If this CPU Switch is being used as a secondary or tertiary switch when using the Two Stage or Three Stage installations, connect these ports to a CPU Port of the CPU Switch being used as the primary unit. Connect the cables that link the computers here. Linksys cable kits can be purchased at your nearest Linksys dealer. ProConnect® 4-Station CPU Switch Connecting PCs to the ProConnect® 4-Station CPU Switch Before you connect any PCs to the 4-Station CPU Switch, make sure that the power on all of the PCs you will be connecting is off. You must also unplug the power cords or any computers that have the Keyboard Power On function. To prevent any damage to the 4-Station CPU Switch, make sure that all devices you are connecting are properly grounded. Make sure you have enough Cabling Kits (model #SVPS06, from your nearest Linksys dealer) available to make the desired number of connections. Up to three tiers of ProConnect® CPU Switches can be connected together to control up to 64 computers. These can be done in a Single Station, Two Stage, or Three Stage Installation. NOTE: Connecting different models of CPU Switches can cause problems with HotKey port switching. To prevent this, only use ProConnect® 4Station CPU Switches when connecting them together. Single Station Installation In a Single Station Installation, up to four computers are connected directly to the CPU Switch, as shown in the diagram below. No additional ProConnect® CPU Switches are connected to the first CPU Switch. 4 5
