Hardware Setup Memory These DIMM slots are used for installing memory modules. Since DDR3 modules are not interchangeable with DDR2 and the DDR3 standard is not backward compatible, you should always install DDR3 memory module in DDR3 slot (DIMM_DDR3_1~2), and DDR2 memory module in DDR2 slot (DIMM_DDR2_1~4). Wrong installation may cause damage of mainboard. Meanwhile, you are not able to boot up your system if you install DDR2 & DDR3 memory modules simultaneously.
