OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE Prior to initial use, clean the unit by going through several boiling cycles, using clean water with each cycle and filling the kettle to its MAX marking. The water will begin boiling after approximately 5 minutes, and the unit will turn off automatically. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place the kettle on a stable and level surface. 2. Pour the desired amount of clean water into the kettle. The amount of water can be measured by the markings on the kettle. ALWAYS pay attention to the minimum and maximum levels and ensure that the lid is properly and firmly closed. 3. Place the kettle on the base so that the bottom of the kettle fits into the contacts on the base. 4. Insert the plug into the outlet. 5. Put the On/Off switch to the "On" position by pushing it down to start the heating process. The indicator lamp will light up. 6. When the water reaches the boiling point, the On/Off switch will automatically go to the "Off" position and the indicator light will turn off. The kettle can also be switched off manually by pushing the On/Off switch up into the "Off "position. 7. The hot water may now be poured into another container. CAUTION: DO NOT touch any part of the kettle except the handle when the appliance is in use, and ensure that the lid is properly closed. NOTE: This kettle is equipped with a safety cut-out to protect the appliance from damage. In the event the appliance is accidentally operated without water, or if all the water has evaporated, the safety cut-out will automatically turn off the heating element. If this occurs, remove the plug from the outlet, and refill the kettle only after it has cooled down for at least 15-20 minutes. 8
