One-Touch Recording 27 A One-Touch Recording (OTR) is an immediate timed recording from 30 minutes to eight hours long. q This function cannot be done from the remote control. q Recording starts immediately when you press REC/OTR. Before you begin, make sure ... q The TV/VCR power is on and has a videotape with a record tab. q If necessary, rewind or fast forward the tape to the point at which you want to begin recording. 1 Press the Number buttons or CH(annel) o/p to select the channel you want to record. Remember, if the TV/VCR is connected to a Cable Box or Satellite Receiver, the TV/VCR must be on channel 3 or 4. Select the channel you want to record at the Cable Box/Satellite Receiver. 2 Press SPEED to select a tape speed (SP/ SLP). Details are on page 10. Each press of REC/OTR will increase the recording time by 30 minutes.You may select a maximum recording length of eight hours. OTR (2:30) 3Press REC/OTR on the front of the TV/VCR. SP When recording finishes, the TV/VCR will turn itself off. Helpful Hints • To stop an OTR, press STOP/p. • To show the remaining time, press DISPLAY. OTR and the remaining recording time will appear briefly. • The maximum recording time of a T-160 tape in SLP speed is 8 hours (assuming you start at the beginning of the tape). A T-120 tape has a maximum of 6 hours recording time in SLP speed. • If the tape ends before the recording's end time, the TV/VCR will stop recording, eject the tape, and turn itself off. • You can turn off the TV/VCR during an OTR.The recording will continue at the length you set. The red REC/OTR light will flash during recording.
