1.5 Electrical connection WARNING • The upper section of the machine contains live components. Contact with live components leads to serious or even fatal injuries. Never spray water on to the upper section of the machine. • Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands. • The vacuum cleaner must not be used if the electrical cable or plug show any sign of damage. Regularly inspect the cable and the plug for damage. If this becomes damaged, it should be repaired only by Makita or an authorised Makita Service Dealer, in order to avoid a hazard. • If grounded products should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. If the appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
