Rapid Wash Use this cycle to wash small loads of 2-3 lightly soiled garments that are needed in a hurry. This cycle combines fast-speed tumbling, a shortened wash time, and high-speed spin to shorten drying time. Large wash loads will result in the machine increasing the wash time. Delicate Use this cycle to wash sheer fabrics and lingerie. This cycle combines low-speed tumbling and low-speed spin for gentle fabric care. ■ Use mesh garment bags to wash undergarments such as underwire bras, items with strings, and small items such as socks. Silk Use this cycle to clean washable silk and ultra delicate garments (check label instructions to make sure the garment is washable.) This cycle gently tumbles and drains with the lowest spinning to gently clean garments and minimize wrinkling. Garments will contain a higher amount of water at the end of this cycle because of the low spin action. Rinse, Drain & Spin Use this cycle to get a rinse and spin only. This cycle combines fastspeed tumbling and ex high spin speed. If desired, you can reduce the spin speed by selecting the speed you want from the SPIN SPEED option. Rinse is useful for: ■ Loads that need rinsing only. ■ Adding fabric softener to a load using the fabric softener dispenser. Using Drain & Spin: 1. Select Rinse, Drain & Spin cycle. 2. Deselect 2nd Rinse option. Soak Use the Soak cycle to help remove set-in stains on fabrics. This cycle provides a soak time with warm or cold water followed by drain. Extra water, a short tumbling phase for equal distribution of the laundry, and a soaking time without drum movement improve the removal of set-in stains. Drain without spin assures gentle treatment, even for delicate articles. Clean Washer with AFFRESH™ cycle Use the Clean Washer with AFFRESH™ cycle once a month to keep the inside of your washer fresh and clean. This cycle uses a higher water level in combination with AFFRESH® washer cleaner tablet or chlorine bleach to thoroughly clean the inside of your washing machine. See "Cleaning Your Washer." IMPORTANT: Do not place garments or other items in the washer during the Clean Washer with AFFRESH™ cycle. Use this cycle with an empty wash drum. Normal Sounds As with any new product, you will hear sounds that you are not accustomed to. You may hear various sounds when the door is locked or unlocked, and during the washing, rinsing, or spinning process. Between changes in wash actions, there will be momentary pauses. You will hear water spraying and splashing during the wash and rinse cycles. These new sounds and pauses are part of normal washer operation. See "Troubleshooting." Options & Modifiers You can customize your wash by adding options to your cycle selections. You can add or change an option after starting a cycle anytime before the selected option begins. Not all Options are available with all cycles. temperatures dryness level cycle signal ■ See the "Laundry Guide" section for an overview of possible options for each Wash Cycle selection. ■ If an option is available with a selected cycle, the light for that option will illuminate when selected. ■ If an option is unavailable with a selected cycle, there will be a short tone and the light for that option will not illuminate when selected. FRESH SPIN™ option Use this option when you are not able to unload your clothes, soon after the wash cycle ends. This option provides periodic tumbling for up to 6 hours to help freshen your clothes. During this time, the "Done" indicator remains activated, the door remains locked, and the FRESH SPIN™ option indicator light will flash. The FRESH SPIN™ option will automatically stop and the door lock will be released after this time expires, or if you press POWER/CANCEL at anytime to unload your laundry. Delay Start Use this to begin the wash cycle later. ■ Press DELAY START until the desired time (in hours) shows in the estimated time remaining display. ■ Press START/PAUSE. The countdown to the wash cycle will show in the display window. 2nd Rinse A 2nd rinse can be used to aid in the removal of detergent residue from garments. This option provides an additional rinse with the same water temperature as in the normal rinse. It is automatic for the Whites cycle. You may select or deselect by pressing 2ND RINSE. MaxExtract™ Use this option to improve drying times for heavy fabrics or special care items. This options final spin increases to the highest speed and reduces excess water to save energy. Wash Temp Each cycle has a preset water temperature setting. To change the water temperature, press the WASH TEMP button until the desired setting is illuminated. Select a water temperature based on the type of load you are washing. Use the warmest wash water safe for fabrics. Follow garment label instructions. The water temperature for all rinses are cold, which save energy. 15

The washer can be installed using the standpipe drain system (floor or wall), the laundry tub drain system, or the floor drain system. Select the drain hose installation method you need. See “Tools and Parts.”	5

Remove Transport System	7
IMPORTANT: Position the washer so that the rear of the washer is within approximately 3 ft. (900 mm) of its final location.	7
There are 4 transport bolts in the rear panel of the washer that support the suspension system during transportation. These bolts also retain the power cord inside the washer until the bolts are removed.	7
1. On the back of the washer, loosen the 4 transport bolts using a 13 mm wrench.	7
2. Once the bolt is loose, move it to the center of the hole and completely pull out the bolt, including the plastic spacer covering the bolt.	7
3. Once all 4 bolts are removed, discard the bolts and spacers. Then pull the power cord through the opening of the rear panel and close the hole with the attached cap.	7
4. Cover the bolt holes with the 4 transport bolt hole plugs.	7
NOTE: If the washer is to be transported at a later date, call your local service center. To avoid suspension and structural damage, your machine must be properly set up for relocation by a certified technician.	7
Connect the Inlet Hoses	7
Insert new flat washers (supplied) into each end of the inlet hoses. Firmly seat the washers in the couplings.	7
Connect the inlet hoses to the water faucets	7
Make sure washer drum is empty and flat washers have been placed into hose couplings. Both hoses must be used for the washer to work properly.	7
1. Attach a hose to the hot water faucet. Screw on coupling by hand until it is seated on the washer.	7
2. Attach a hose to the cold water faucet. Screw on coupling by hand until it is seated on the washer.	7
3. Using pliers, tighten the couplings with an additional two-thirds turn.	7
NOTE: Do not overtighten. Damage to the coupling or water faucet can result. Both faucets must be turned on for the washer to work properly.	7
Clear the water lines	7
Connect the inlet hoses to the washer	8
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the flat washers have been placed into the hose couplings.	8
1. Attach the hot water hose to the washer’s hot (H) water inlet valve. Screw on coupling by hand until it is seated on the washer.	8
2. Attach the cold water hose to the washer’s cold (C) water faucet. Screw on coupling by hand until it is seated on the washer.	8
3. Using pliers, tighten the couplings with an additional two-thirds turn.	8
4. Turn on the water faucets completely and check for leaks.	8
Connect the Drain Hose	8
Remove drain hose from washer drum	8
1. Use locking pliers, squeeze hose clamp tabs together and insert over the end of drain hose.	8
2. Slide drain hose onto washer connection.	8
3. Once drain hose is in place, release pliers.	8
4. Washer drain system can be installed using a floor drain, wall standpipe, floor standpipe, or laundry tub.	8

Connect the drain hose form to the corrugated drain hose.	8
To keep drain water from going back into the washer:	8

Secure the Drain Hose	9
Drain hose must be secured to stop the hose from moving when water is pumped out. If the drain hose moves, water may end up on the floor.	9
1. Drape the power cord over the washer top.	9
2. Move the washer to its final location.	9
3. Place the drain hose in the laundry tub or standpipe as shown. See illustrations A and B.	9
NOTES:	9
4. If the washer faucets and the drain standpipe are recessed, put the hooked end of the drain hose in the standpipe as shown. See illustration C.	9
Level the Washer	9
Proper foot to floor contact and leveling your washer avoids excessive noise and vibration.	9
NOTE: Installing washer on soft floor surfaces, such as carpets or surfaces with foam backing, is not recommended.	9
1. Slide the washer to its final location.	9
2. Check that all four feet are in firm contact with the floor.	9
3. Check the levelness of the washer by placing a level on the top edge of the washer, first side to side then front to back.	9
4. Make sure all four feet are in firm contact with the floor. Then check that the washer is perfectly level (use a level). Repeat steps 1-3 until washer is level.	9
5. After the washer is level, and all four feet are in firm contact with the floor, use a 9/16\	9
6. The washer should not move front to back, side to side, or diagonally when pushed on its top edges.	9
7. Confirm the levelness of the washer.	9
Complete Installation	9
1. Check the electrical requirements. Be sure that you have the correct electrical supply and the recommended grounding method. See “Electrical Requirements.”	9
2. Check that all parts are now installed. If there is an extra part, go back through the steps to see which step was skipped.	9
3. Check that you have all of your tools.	9
4. Dispose of/recycle all packaging materials.	9
5. Check that both water faucets are on.	9
6. Check for leaks around faucets and inlet hoses.	9
7. Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.	9
8. Read “Washer Use.”	9

For All Wash Cycles	11
1. To load washer Open the washer door by pulling on the handle. Sort laundry according to color and type of fabric. Place a load of sorted clothes in the washer. Do not tightly pack the washer. Tightly packed items can cause poor cleaning.	11
2. Close the washer door by pushing it firmly until the lock clicks. After a lock check at the beginning of the cycle, the washer door will remain locked during the wash cycle.	11
3. Open the dispenser drawer and add laundry products to the detergent, bleach, or fabric softener compartments. Close drawer slowly to avoid spills. See “Using the Dispenser.”	11
4. Turn on the washer by pressing POWER/CANCEL or by turning the cycle selector. The indicator light for the selected cycle will illuminate. When selecting a Wash Cycle, the preset Wash Temp and Spin Speed for the selected cycle will illuminate. Thes...	11

Follow the manufacturer's instructions to determine the amount of fabric softener to use. Fabric softener will be automatically dispensed in the final rinse or in the 2nd Rinse, if selected.	12
Pausing or Restarting	12
1. To pause the washer at any time, press START/PAUSE.	12
2. To continue the cycle, press and hold START/PAUSE (for approximately 1 second).	12
Changing Cycles and Options	13
Not all Options are available with all Cycles.	13
Cycles and Options can be changed anytime before START/PAUSE is pressed.	13
To cancel a cycle	13
1. Press POWER/CANCEL.	13
2. The washer powers down, the door unlocks, and clothes can be removed.	13
NOTE: If the water level or the temperature is too high, the washer will drain automatically before the door unlocks.	13
To change Options after the cycle has started	13
1. Press START/PAUSE once.	13
2. Press the desired OPTIONS. If the option is not available, the machine will beep.	13
3. Press and hold START/PAUSE (for approximately 1 second) to continue the cycle.	13
NOTE: Press and hold FRESH SPIN™ option button (approx. 1 second) to add periodic tumbling. See “Options” for complete cycle description. The light will glow when selected and will remain flashing for up to 6 hours or until the washer is stoppe...	13
To drain the washer manually	13
1. Press START/PAUSE.	13
2. Press RINSE, DRAIN & SPIN.	13
3. Deselect 2ND RINSE Option.	13
4. Press and hold START/PAUSE (for approximately 1 second) to begin the drain.	13
5. When the spin is complete, the door unlocks. Items can be removed from the washer.	13
Status Lights	13
These lights show which portion of the cycle the washer is operating. They also indicate when you can add an additional item to the wash cycle and when the controls are locked.	13
Add Clothes	13
You can add items to the washer after the wash cycle has started, if the Add Clothes status light is illuminated. All cycles have this feature except Rinse, Drain & Spin and Clean Washer with AFFRESH™ cycle.	13
To add items	13
1. Press START/PAUSE. The washer door unlocks, and items can be added.	13
2. To continue the cycle, close the door and press and hold START/PAUSE (for approximately 1 second).	13
NOTE: To add garments after the Add Clothes period is over, the wash cycle needs to be canceled, the items added, and a new wash cycle started.	13
Done	13
The Done light comes on after the cycle is complete. The light will stay on until door is opened.	13
Controls Locked	13
Lock/Unlock Controls	13
This feature avoids unintended use of the washer and cycle or option changes during a cycle. When this light is illuminated, all buttons are disabled except for START/PAUSE and POWER/ CANCEL. You can lock the controls while the washer is in operation.	13
To lock the controls Press and hold CYCLE SIGNAL option for 3 seconds.	13
The Controls Locked status light illuminates.	13
To unlock the controls Press and hold CYCLE SIGNAL option for 3 seconds until the CONTROLS LOCKED Status light turns off.	13
Door Locked	13
Depending on the stage of the wash cycle, the door locks and unlocks automatically. The status light indicates when the door is locked. To unlock, press START/PAUSE.	13

Delicate

Use this cycle to wash sheer fabrics and lingerie. This cycle

underwire bras, items with strings, and small items such as

contain a higher amount of water at the end of this cycle because of

the low spin action.

Use this cycle to get a rinse and spin only. This cycle combines fast-

speed tumbling and ex high spin speed. If desired, you can reduce

the spin speed by selecting the speed you want from the SPIN

SPEED option.

Rinse is useful for:

drain. Extra water, a short tumbling phase for equal distribution of

the laundry, and a soaking time without drum movement improve

the removal of set-in stains. Drain without spin assures gentle

treatment, even for delicate articles.

Clean Washer with AFFRESH™ cycle

Use the Clean Washer with AFFRESH™ cycle once a month to keep

the inside of your washer fresh and clean. This cycle uses a higher

water level in combination with AFFRESH

washer cleaner tablet or

chlorine bleach to thoroughly clean the inside of your washing

machine. See “Cleaning Your Washer.”

IMPORTANT:

Do not place garments or other items in the washer

during the Clean Washer with AFFRESH™ cycle. Use this cycle

with an empty wash drum.

FRESH SPIN

™

option

Use this option when you are not able to unload your clothes, soon

after the wash cycle ends. This option provides periodic tumbling

“Done” indicator remains activated, the door remains locked, and

the FRESH SPIN™ option indicator light will flash. The FRESH

SPIN™ option will automatically stop and the door lock will be

released after this time expires, or if you press POWER/CANCEL at

anytime to unload your laundry.

Press DELAY START until the desired time (in hours) shows in the

estimated time remaining display.
