Filling the water tank If the coffee machine is connected to a plumbed water supply, the water is filled up automatically as soon as the machine is turned on. The inlet guide at the water tank lid ensures that the water is flows in quietly. Of course, you can also fill the water tank manually when using the coffee machine without a plumbed water supply (water tank operation). ,Change the water daily to prevent bacteria growth. ^ Open the unit door. Before using the coffee system for the first time, clean the appliance. See "Cleaning and Care". Only fill the water tank with cold, fresh tap water. Hot or warm water or other liquids can damage the coffee machine. Do not use mineral water to fill the water tank. Mineral water will cause serious lime scale deposits to build up in your coffee machine and damage it. ^ Slowly pull the water tank forward and out. ^ Remove the lid and fill the container with fresh, cold tap water to the "Max." mark. ^ Push the water tank into the unit until it clicks into place. If the water tank has not clicked into place, pull the tank out, check and clean the niche. The valve might leak. If necessary, clean the niche and surface. 18
