Chapter 5 Imaging Preferences Introduction You can program the digital imager scanner to perform various functions, or activate different features. This chapter describes imaging preference features and provides programming bar codes for selecting these features. The digital imager scanner ships with the settings in Imaging Preferences Parameter Defaults on page 5-2 (also see Appendix A, Standard Default Parameters for all host device and miscellaneous defaults). If the default values suit requirements, programming is not necessary. To set feature values, scan a single bar code or a short bar code sequence. The settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are preserved even when you power down the digital imager scanner. NOTE Most computer monitors allow scanning the bar codes directly on the screen. When scanning from the screen, be sure to set the document magnification to a level where you can see the bar code clearly, and bars and/or spaces are not merging. If not using a USB cable, select a host type after the power-up beeps sound. See Chapter 6, SSI Interface, Chapter 7, USB Interface and Chapter 8, RS-232 Interface for specific host information. This is only necessary upon the first power-up when connecting to a new host. To return all features to default values, scan the Set Default Parameter on page 4-4. Throughout the programming bar code menus, asterisks (*) indicate default values. * Indicates Default *Enable Decode Aiming Pattern (02h) Feature/Option Option Hex Value for programming via SSI command
