4.3 Voice Activation The VOX setting allows you to adjust the sound sensitivity level, so that in a quiet environment you can pick up minor sounds, but in a noisier setting you can choose to have only the loudest sounds transmitted to the parent unit. 1. When choosing the VOX level, remember that the most sensitive setting is at the first bar. This setting allows the most minor sounds to be transmitted to the parent unit. Adjusting the VOX level to the last bar will provide the least sensitive monitoring. This might be useful in a playroom with random and background noises present during play, versus using the most sensitive setting during naps or sleeping through the night. When using the VOX feature, VOX will be displayed at the top of the LCD screen. With VOX at the minimum setting, a is displayed and the audio/video monitoring occurs without reference to the voice activation. 4. VOX Setting Suggestions: • Set at the first bar to closely monitor a quiet sleeper. • Set to the last bar to detect loud sounds in a noisy environment. • Set in between for a situation monitoring moderate sound levels. • Set to the if you prefer to continuously monitor the environment with both audio and video on. With this option, we recommend using the power supply for both units to avoid battery usage.
