Let's get started 1 Call your cable service provider to order cable Internet service if you don't already have it. Mention that your MG8702 supports DOCSIS 3.1, the fastest cable modem service standard. Your MG8702 also supports the top speeds of any DOCSIS 3.0 services. If you already have cable Internet service, you probably don't need to call your cable service provider. You should have your account number handy in case you need it during the activation process. You can generally find the account number on the landing page when you log in to your cable service provider account.
