CHAPTER 8: TROUBLESHOOTING This chapter provides troubleshooting information for the NETGEAR GA621 Fiber Gigabit Ethernet Card. Checking the Port LEDs GA621 Fiber Gigabit Ethernet Card The front panel of the GA621 has three LEDs: one for each port speed option (100 Mbps and 1000Mbps) to indicate which link is active, and one LED for data transfer status (see Figure 2-1 on page 2-5). Before the port LEDs can provide troubleshooting information, the card must be connected to the network (see Chapter 2), and the network drivers for your particular operating system must be installed (see Chapter 3 through Chapter 7). 1. Verify that the card driver software has been installed and that the card is connected to a network. 2. Verify that the card status LEDs operate as described in the Table 8-1. Table 8-1. CHAPTER 8: TROUBLESHOOTING
This chapter provides troubleshooting information for the NETGEAR GA621 Fiber
Gigabit Ethernet Card.
Checking the Port LEDs
GA621 Fiber Gigabit Ethernet Card
The front panel of the GA621 has three LEDs: one for each port speed option
(100 Mbps and 1000Mbps) to indicate which link is active, and one LED for data
transfer status (see Figure 2-1 on page 2-5).
Before the port LEDs can provide troubleshooting information, the card must be
connected to the network (see Chapter 2), and the network drivers for your particu-
lar operating system must be installed (see Chapter 3 through Chapter 7).
1.
Verify that the card driver software has been installed and that the card is
connected to a network.
2.
Verify that the card status LEDs operate as described in the Table 8-1.
