Connections Making the Connection: Connecting to Your Computer Once you have installed Nikon View 5, you are ready to transfer photographs and movies to your computer. Pictures can be transferred via a direct USB connection between the camera and computer, or by removing the memory card from the camera and inserting it in a card reader or PC card slot. Direct Connection: Connecting Your Camera by Cable If your computer has a built-in USB interface, you can connect it to your camera using the UC-E3 cable provided. 1 Slide the mode selector to The camera will enter playback mode ( 78) with your most recent picture displayed full frame in the monitor. 2 Select the pictures to be transferred Press the ( ) button to display the pictures on the memory card in "contact sheets" of four or nine thumbnails ( 80). Confirm that only the pictures you want to copy to the computer are marked with a icon. To remove the icon from a picture, or to select an unmarked picture for transfer, highlight the image with the multi selector and press the ( ) button. 3 Turn the camera off Turn the camera off before connecting it to a computer. Transferring More than 999 Pictures No more than 999 pictures can be transferred at one time using the ( ) button. To copy more pictures, use Nikon View 5.
