Reference-Beyond Point-and-Shoot This section describes when to use each of the nine shooting modes. To choose a mode, turn the mode dial to the appropriate position. When one of the nine modes is chosen, a large icon corresponding to the current mode will be shown in the top left corner of the monitor for about seven seconds. In Scene modes, the large icon will then be replaced by a small icon. In Auto ( ) mode, when the large icon disappears, it will not replaced by a small icon. In Movie mode, the small icon will appear immediately, in the bottom left corner of the monitor, together with the large icon.
