Format Memory cards must be formatted before first use. Formatting memory cards is also an effective way of deleting all pictures on the card. Selecting Format displays the following options. Press the multi selector up or down to highlight an option and then press the button: Option Description No Exit without formatting memory card. Format memory card. Message shown at right displayed while formatting is in progress. Do not turn the camera Yes off, remove the batteries or memory card, or unplug the AC adapter (available separately) until formatting is complete and setup menu is displayed. LCD Brightness Press the multi selector up to increase brightness, down to decrease. The number to the right of the display indicates the current brightness level, with +2 the brightest setting and -2 the darkest. Press the multi selector to the right to complete the operation and return to the setup menu. Setup The Setup Menu Before Formatting Formatting memory cards permanently deletes all data they contain, including hidden and protected pictures and any other data that may be on the card. Before formatting, be sure to transfer to a computer any pictures you would like to keep. FAT 32 The D200 supports FAT 32, allowing use of memory cards with capacities of over 2 GB. FAT 16 is used when reformatting cards already formatted in FAT 16. Two-Button Format 116 Memory cards can also be formatted with the ( and ) buttons ( 14).
