Cropping Pictures This option lets you crop part of a picture and save it as a separate file. 1 X4.0 2 X4.0 More on Playback Scroll Zoom Zoom picture in and out. 3 Save this image as displayed? Cropped pictures are stored as JPEG files (compression ratio 1 : 8). Depending on the size of the original and the zoom ratio at the time the copy was created, copies will be 2,048 × 1,536 (E3200 only), 1,600 × 1,200, 1,280 × 960, 1,024 × 768, 640 × 480, 320 × 240, or 160 × 120 pixels in size. Copies are stored in separate files in the memory or on the memory card with names of the form "RSCNnnnn.JPG," where "nnnn" is a four-digit number assigned automatically by the camera. Photo Trim • Cropped pictures are stored with the same recording date and time as the original. • Resized copies and cropped copies can not be cropped. • If a cropped copy created using the E3200 or E2200 is viewed on a different digital cam- era, the picture may not be displayed or it may not be possible to transfer it to a computer. 42
