Problem Camera cannot focus. Images are blurred. Streaks of light or partial discoloration are visible in the monitor. Bright specks appear in images captured with flash. Flash does not fire. Optical zoom cannot be used. Digital zoom cannot be used. No sound when shutter is released. Cause/Solution A • Subject is too close. Try moving away from the 43 subject or setting Choose a style to Shoot close- ups. • The intended subject is one with which autofocus 62 does not perform well. • Set AF assist in the camera settings menu to Auto. 84, E43 • Turn camera off and then on again. 21 • Use flash. • Use tripod and self-timer. • Enable electronic VR. 35 37 84, E42 Smear occurs when extremely bright light strikes the image sensor. When recording movies, avoiding bright objects, such as the sun, reflections of the sun, and electric lights is recommended. 79, F4 Flash is reflecting off particles in air.
