Step 1 Turn the Camera On 1 Press the power switch to turn on the camera. • If you are turning the camera on for the first time after purchase, see "Setting the Display Language, Date and Time" (A24). • The lens will extend, and the monitor will turn on. 2 Check the battery level indicator and the number of exposures remaining. The battery level is low. Prepare to charge or replace the battery. The camera cannot take pictures. Recharge or replace with a fully charged battery. Number of Exposures Remaining Indicator is displayed when there are 50 or fewer exposures remaining. • C is displayed when no memory card is inserted in the camera, and images will be saved in the internal memory (approximately 74 MB). • The number of exposures remaining depends on the remaining capacity of the internal memory or memory card, and the image quality and image size (image mode) (A65). • The number of remaining exposures shown in the illustrations in this manual is for example purposes only. 22
