❚❚ Movie Settings Choose movie quality and sound options. • Movie quality: Choose from the following options. The frame rate depends on the option currently selected for Video mode in the setup menu (0 170): Movie quality Frame size (pixels) Frame rate Quality Bit rate (high/normal quality) r 30 fps 1, 2 s 1920 × 1080 25 fps 2, 3 18 Mbps/10 Mbps k 24 fps l o 1280 × 720 30 fps 1 25 fps 3 ★ high/normal 10 Mbps/6 Mbps m 24 fps 8 Mbps/5 Mbps n p 640 × 424 30 fps 1 25 fps 3 4 Mbps/2 Mbps 1 Available when NTSC is selected for Video mode. 2 Not output to televisions or other external displays during recording. 3 Available when PAL is selected for Video mode. 4 Movies recorded in miniature effect mode are up to 3 minutes long when played back. Maximum length 20 min. 4 • Microphone: Selecting Microphone off turns sound recording off; selecting any other option turns recording on and sets the built-in microphone or optional ME-1 stereo microphone (0 207) to the selected sensitivity. 1 Select Movie settings. y Press the G button to display the menus. Highlight Movie settings in the shooting menu and press 2. G button 2 Choose movie options. Highlight the desired item and press 2, then highlight an option and press J. A Using an External Microphone The optional ME-1 stereo microphone can be used to record sound in stereo or to reduce noise caused by lens vibration being recorded during autofocus. D The Count-Down Display A count down will be displayed 30 s before movie recording ends automatically (0 103). Depending on shooting conditions, the timer may appear immediately when movie recording begins. Note that regardless of the amount of recording time available, live view will still end automatically when the timer expires. Wait for the internal circuits to cool before resuming movie recording. 109
