If your heart rate is too far below or above the target heart rate setting, the resistance of the pedals will automatically increase or decrease to bring your heart rate closer to the target heart rate setting. After the first segment ends, the pace guide will prompt you to maintain a constant pedaling pace. When one of the "Too Slow" indicators lights, increase your pace; when one of the "Too Fast" indicators lights, decrease your pace. When the center indicator lights, maintain your current pace. Note: During the program, you can manually override the resistance setting for the current segment, if desired, with the One-touch Resistance buttons. However, when the console compares your heart rate to the target heart rate setting, the resistance of the pedals may automatically increase or decrease to bring your heart rate closer to the target heart rate setting. If you stop pedaling for several seconds, a tone will sound and the program will pause. To restart the program, simply resume pedaling. 6. Monitor your progress with the displays.
