Symptom Explanation Action Cannot print. Print job is sent, but the READY light is not on. Is the READY light off? If so, this printer is offline or in menu setting mode. Is there a message displayed on the control panel? When a parallel cable is used for connection, are you using a computer that supports bidirectional communication? The printer has insufficient memory to print the job. The interface cable may be disconnected. Is the interface configured? The computer environment is not correctly set up. Check the control panel display: "Off-line" Press Others Press the Back Arrow button to exit the menu setting mode. Follow the message to rectify the problem. See page 103 By default, the printer's bidirectional communication setting is set to [Enable]. If the computer is not responding to bidirectional communication, printing cannot be done. Turn the bidirectional communication setting to [Disable] on the control panel and then print again. If the printer driver is set to [1200dpi] on the [Graphics] tab, change it to [600dpi]. Install additional memory (optional) in the printer. Reduce the complexity of the print job. Turn off the power and check the connection of the interface cable.
