Getting started Power on/off ⅷ Shooting mode Power on: Open the lens barrier. The monitor turns on. The camera turns on in the shooting mode (the power lamp lights). Power off: Partly close the lens barrier to turn the camera off (about halfway across the lens). Wait until the monitor turns off and the lens is fully retracted. Close the lens barrier all the way. The camera turns off (the power lamp turns off). ⅷ Playback mode Power on: Press the (playback) button with the lens barrier closed. The camera turns on in the playback mode (the monitor turns on).
