Use an analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the A-1VL's PHONO L/R inputs to the audio outputs on your turntable, as shown. Remove the shorting pin plugs before connecting your turntable. Ground wire OUTPUT L R Note: If your TV has no audio outputs, connect the A-1VL to your VCR and use its tuner. Connecting a Cassette or MD Recorder Use an analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the A-1VL's LINE 2 IN L/R inputs to the MD recorder or cassette recorder's outputs, and use another analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the A-1VL's LINE OUT L/R outputs to the cassette or MD recorder's inputs, as shown. PHONO L R OUTPUT L R Notes: • If your turntable has a ground wire, connect it to the GND screw on the A-1VL. With some turntables, connecting the ground wire may cause hum, in which case it should be disconnected. • If your turntable has a moving coil (MC) type cartridge, you'll need a commercially available MC phono preamp. Connect the phono preamp to your turntable, and then connect the phono preamp to the A-1VL's PHONO L/R inputs. 10 LINE 2 OUT IN L L R R L L R R REC PLAY (IN) (OUT)

Connecting the A-1VL
—Continued
Connecting a CD player
Use an analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the
A-1VL
s CD L/R inputs to the analog audio outputs on
your CD player, as shown.
Connecting an Audio Output Component
Such as a TV
Use an analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the
A-1VL
s LINE 1 L/R inputs to the analog audio outputs
on your component such as a TV, as shown.
Note:
If your TV has no audio outputs, connect the A-1VL to
your VCR and use its tuner.
Connecting a Cassette or MD Recorder
Use an analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the
A-1VL
s LINE 2 IN L/R inputs to the
MD recorder or
cassette recorder
s outputs, and use another analog
audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the A-1VL
s LINE
OUT L/R outputs to the cassette or MD recorder
s
inputs, as shown.
Connecting a Tuner
Use an analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the
A-1VL
s TUNER L/R inputs to the analog audio out-
puts on your tuner, as shown.
Connecting a Turntable
The A-1VL
s phono inputs are for use with moving
magnet (MM) type cartridges.
Use an analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the
A-1VL
s PHONO L/R inputs to the audio outputs on
your turntable, as shown. Remove the shorting pin plugs
before connecting your turntable.
Notes:
If your turntable has a ground wire, connect it to the
GND screw on the A-1VL. With some turntables,
connecting the ground wire may cause hum, in which
case it should be disconnected.
If your turntable has a moving coil (MC) type
cartridge, you
ll need a commercially available MC
phono preamp. Connect the phono preamp to your
turntable, and then connect the phono preamp to the
A-1VL
s PHONO L/R inputs.
