Using the Listening Modes Selecting Listening Modes See "About Listening Modes" for detailed information about the listening modes (➔ page 34). ■ Listening Mode Buttons Press RECEIVER first. THX MOVIE/TV, MUSIC, GAME MUSIC MOVIE/TV GAME STEREO MOVIE/TV button This button selects the listening modes intended for use with movies and TV. MUSIC button This button selects the listening modes intended for use with music. GAME button This button selects the listening modes intended for use with video games. STEREO button This button selects the Stereo listening mode and All Channel Stereo listening mode. THX button and indicator This button selects the THX listening modes. The indicator lights when this mode is selected. • The Dolby Digital and DTS listening modes can only be selected if your Blu-ray Disc/DVD player is connected to the AV receiver with a digital audio connection (coaxial, optical, or HDMI). • The listening modes you can select depends on the format of the input signal. To check the format, see "Displaying Source Information" (➔ page 40). • While a pair of headphones is connected, you can select the following listening modes: Mono, Direct, and Stereo. • The listening modes cannot be used while you are listening to sound through your TV speakers coming from components connected to the AV receiver. Listening Mode Buttons
MOVIE/TV button
This button selects the listening modes intended for use
with movies and TV.
MUSIC button
This button selects the listening modes intended for use
with music.
GAME button
This button selects the listening modes intended for use
with video games.
STEREO button
This button selects the Stereo listening mode and All
Channel Stereo listening mode.
THX button and indicator
This button selects the THX listening modes.
The indicator lights when this mode is selected.
