Late Night ■ Late Night For Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus sources, the options are: ` Off ` Low: Small reduction in dynamic range. ` High: Large reduction in dynamic range. For Dolby TrueHD sources, the options are: ` Auto: The Late Night function is set to "On" or "Off" automatically. ` Off ` On Turn this setting on to reduce the dynamic range of Dolby Digital material so that you can still hear quiet parts even when listening at low volume levels-ideal for watching movies late at night when you don't want to disturb anyone. Note • The effect of the Late Night function depends on the material that you are playing and the intention of the original sound designer, and with some material there will be little or no effect when you select the different options. • The Late Night function can be used only when the input source is Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, or Dolby TrueHD. • The Late Night function is set to "Off" when the AV receiver is set to standby. For Dolby TrueHD sources, it will be set to "Auto". Music Optimizer Re-EQ With the Re-EQ function, you can compensate a soundtrack whose high-frequency content is too harsh, making it more suitable for home theater viewing. ■ Re-EQ ` Off ` On This function can be used with the following listening modes: Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Multichannel, DTS, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Express, DSD, Dolby EX, Dolby Pro Logic IIz Height, Dolby PLIIx Movie, DTS Neo:6 Cinema and 5.1-channel source + DTS Neo:6. ■ Re-EQ(THX) ` Off ` On This function can be used with the following listening modes: THX Cinema, THX Surround EX, and THX I/S Cinema. Note • Settings for the Re-EQ function are kept in each listening mode. In THX listening mode however, the setting will return to "On" when the AV receiver is turned off. ■ Music Optimizer ` Off ` On Turn this setting on to enhance the sound quality of compressed music files. Use it with music files that use "lossy" compression, such as MP3. Note • The Music Optimizer function only works with PCM digital audio input signals with a sampling rate below 48 kHz and analog audio input signals. The Music Optimizer is disabled when the Direct listening mode is selected. • The setting is stored individually for each input selector. • The M.Opt indicator will light (➔ page 9). En 58
