BUTTON LIST The trick is to push the buttons slowly; it takes a moment to register. Be careful that the button does not lock down. Some buttons behave differently in TV and Teletext. The following list is grouped according to TV or Teletext. If the description of a button is missing in one list, it will be found in the other. . TV FUNCTIONS 1. STANDBY (O) This turns the set off. The red STANDBY light comes on to show that the set is in Standby. If the set is left unattended for long periods it should be switched off with the POWER SWITCH. 2. BRIGHTNESS ( - +) 3. CONTRAST ( - +) 4. COLOUR ( - +) 5. VOLUME ( - +) The "-" button decreases the level and the "+" button increases it. 6,7. PR (+ / -) Press these buttons to change the Channel Numbers up and down one at a time. 8. PP Press this button to select the Personal Preference preset values of Volume, Brightness, Colour and Contrast. 9. MUTE ( ) Cuts the sound without affecting the picture. To restore sound press it again. 10. SLEEP ( ) This button is for those who fall asleep watching TV. The set switches off after a preset time. Press the button repeatedly to count up to 120 minutes and back to OFF. The set will go into STANDBY automatically when the time is up. 11. TIME/TEXT ( ) This displays a digital clock in the upper right corner of the screen if the TV station is sending Teletext. If the black rectangle is blank, the station is probably not sending Teletxet. It is a good way to see if the station is sending Teletext. 12. PAGE UP ( ) Press this button to change from single-digit to double-digit mode. 13. AV ( ) The set is has Audio/Video sockets on the back for connecting VCRs directly. Press this button to take input from the Audio/Video sockets. If there is no signal the screen will be blank grey with AV showing in the upper left corner. To return to TV press Button (14) 14. TV( ) This button returns all other modes back to TV. 15. TELETEXT ( ) This button activates Teletext and puts the Teletext display on the screen. 17. MIX ( ) This button mixes Teletext and TV pictures. It only works if the Teletext button (15) is pressed first. 19. RECALL ( + ) If the TV set is in STANDBY (red light), press this button to turn the set on. It also shows the Channel Number, the TV Band, and the Sleep timer settings. 12
