You cannot transfer (dub) a recorded title. ≥This unit is compatible with 1k-3k recording speed discs. ≥You can transfer (dub) up to 24 k recording speed by using a high speed recording compatible disc (➡ page 35). DVD-R ≥4.7 GB, 12 cm (5z) ≥1.4 GB, 8 cm (3z) [DVD-R] One time recording discs for backup use (recordable until the disc is full) ≥You can record up to 8 hours [in EP (8H) mode]. ≥By finalizing the disc, you can play it in a DVD player as DVD-Video (Play only) (➡ page 39, 46). ≥You cannot record digital broadcasts that allow "One time only recording". ≥This unit is compatible with 1k-4k recording speed discs. ≥You can transfer (dub) up to 32 k recording speed by using a high speed recording compatible disc (➡ page 35). ≥We recommend using Panasonic discs. DVD-R from other manufacturers may not be recorded or played due to the condition of the recording. ∫ Which should I use, DVD-RAM or DVD-R? The following chart indicates the differences. Turn this setting "Off" if high speed transfer (dubbing) to DVD-R is not necessary when recording a programme (➡ page 41). ∫ Protection [RAM] (Cartridge discs) With the write-protect tab in the protect position, you cannot record to, edit, or erase from the disc. PROTECT Play automatically starts when inserted in the unit. RQT7305 14 Audio CD [CD] Recorded audio and music (including CD-R/RW) CD-R and CD-RW with music recorded in MP3 (➡ page 27) ≥This unit plays CD-R/CD-RW (audio recording discs). Close the session or finalize the disc after recording. Play may be impossible on some CD-R or CD-RW discs due to the condition of the recording. ≥The producer of the material can control how discs are played. So you may not always be able to control play as described in these operating instructions. Read the disc's instructions carefully. Discs that cannot be played ≥2.6 and 5.2 GB DVD-RAM, 12 cm (5z) ≥3.95 and 4.7 GB DVD-R for Authoring ≥Unfinalized DVD-R recorded on other equipment (➡ page 46, Finalize) ≥PAL discs (you can still play the audio on DVD-Audio) ≥DVD-Video with a region number other than "1" or "ALL" ≥DVD-ROM, DVD-RW, iR, iRW, CD-ROM, CDV, CD-G, Photo CD, CVD, SVCD, SACD, MV-Disc, PD, Divx Video Disc, etc.
