Useful Information Voice mail service Voice mail is an automatic answering service offered by your phone service provider. After you subscribe to this service, your phone service provider's voice mail system answers calls for you when you are unavailable to answer the phone or when your line is busy. Messages are recorded by your phone service provider, not your telephone. Please contact your phone service provider for details of this service. Storing the voice mail (VM) access number In order to listen to your voice mail messages, you must dial your phone service provider's voice mail access number. Once you have stored your voice mail access number, you can dial it automatically (page 27). 1 MMENUN#331 2 Enter your access number (24 digits max.). a MSAVEN a MOFFN Note: R When storing your voice mail access number and your mailbox password, press MDN (Pause) to add pauses (page 12) between the access number and the password as necessary. Contact your phone service provider for the required pause time. Example: 1-222-333-4444 PPPP 8888 VM access number Pauses Password To erase the voice mail access number 1 MMENUN#331 2 Press and hold MCLEARN until all digits are erased. a MSAVEN a MOFFN Voice mail (VM) tone detection Your phone service provider sends special signals (sometimes called "voice mail tones" or "stutter tones") to the unit to let you know you have new voice mail messages. If you hear a series of dial tones followed by a continuous dial tone after you press M N, you have new voice mail messages. Soon after you hang up a call or after the phone stops ringing, your unit checks the phone line to see if new voice mail messages have been recorded. Turn this feature off when: - You do not subscribe to voice mail service. - Your phone service provider does not send voice mail tones. - Your phone is connected to a PBX. If you are not sure which setting is required, contact your phone service provider. Turning VM tone detection on/off The default setting is "On". 1 MMENUN#332 2 MbN: Select the desired setting. a MSAVEN a MOFFN Listening to voice mail messages The unit lets you know that you have new voice mail messages in the following way: - "New Voice Mail" is displayed if message indication service is available. 1 MMENUN#330 R The speakerphone turns on. 2 Follow the pre-recorded instructions. 3 When finished, press MOFFN. Note: R You can also use the MVMN soft key, if displayed, to play new voice mail messages. R If the handset still indicate there are new messages even after you have listened to all new messages, turn it off by pressing and holding # until the handset beeps. Voice mail is an automatic answering service
offered by your phone service provider. After
you subscribe to this service, your phone
service provider’s voice mail system answers
calls for you when you are unavailable to
answer the phone or when your line is busy.
Messages are recorded by your phone service
provider, not your telephone. Please contact
your phone service provider for details of this
service.
Storing the voice mail (VM)
access number
In order to listen to your voice mail messages,
you must dial your phone service provider’s
voice mail access number. Once you have
stored your voice mail access number, you
can dial it automatically (page 27).
