Useful Information Troubleshooting General use Problem The unit does not work. The display shows "No link to base. Move closer to base, try again." and an alarm tone sounds. I cannot hear a dial tone. The handset displays the incorrect time. Cause & solution L Make sure that the battery is installed correctly (page 12). L Check the connections (page 11). L Fully charge the battery (page 13). L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 13). L Unplug the base unit's AC adaptor to reset the unit. Reconnect the adaptor and try again. L The handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the handset (page 59). L Re-install the battery (page 12) and fully charge it. L The handset has lost communication with the base unit. Move closer to the base unit, and try again. L Confirm that the base unit's AC adaptor is plugged in. L Raise the base unit antennas. L The handset's registration may have been canceled. Re-register the handset (page 59). L Confirm that the telephone line cord is connected (page 11). L Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone company. L The handset has lost communication with the base unit (because the base unit's AC adaptor is not connected or the handset is out of range). Confirm that the base unit's AC adaptor is connected and move the handset closer to the base unit. Programmable settings Problem I cannot program items. While programming, the handset starts to ring. Cause & solution L Programming is not possible while the handset and base unit are being used. L Do not pause for over 1 minute while programming. L Move closer to the base unit.
