Using Bluetooth devices Using a Bluetooth wireless headset (optional) By registering a Bluetooth headset to the base unit, you can have a hands-free conversation wirelessly. Important: L Up to 2 headsets can be registered to the base unit. However, only 1 Bluetooth headset can be used at a time. L For best performance, we recommend using a Bluetooth headset within 1 m (3.3 feet) of the base unit. A headset can communicate with the base unit within a range of approximately 10 m (33 feet). Registering a headset 1 Your headset: Set your headset to registration mode. L Refer to your headset operating instructions. 2 Base unit: {MENU} i {#}{6}{2}{3} i {V}/{^}: "Add new device" i {SELECT} 3 Base unit: Enter your headset PIN. L Typically, default PIN is "0000". Refer to your headset operating instructions. 4 Base unit: {OK} L When registration is complete, ] is displayed. You are ready to use the headset. Note: L When you register a 2nd headset, the 1st registered headset is disconnected from the base unit. To use the 1st registered headset, change the headset connection. See "Changing the headset connection (when 2 headsets are registered)", page 48. Reconnecting a headset If ] is not displayed even when the headset is turned on, the headset has been disconnected from the base unit. Reconnect the headset. Important: L Make sure that the headset is turned on. [ Base unit 1 {MENU} i {#}{6}{2}{3} 2 {V}/{^}: Select the headset indicated by "Q". i {MENU} 3 {V}/{^}: "Connect" i {SELECT} L ] is displayed. 4 {■} (EXIT) Disconnecting a headset from the base unit (when using a headset with another Bluetooth device) To use your headset with another Bluetooth device such as a cellular phone, you may need to disconnect the headset from the base unit. [ Base unit 1 {MENU} i {#}{6}{2}{3} 2 {V}/{^}: Select the headset indicated by "Q". i {MENU} 3 {V}/{^}: "Disconnect" i {SELECT} L ] disappears from the display. 4 {■} (EXIT) Changing the headset connection (when 2 headsets are registered) Only 1 headset can be used at a time. If the headset you want to use is not connected to the base unit, change the connection to that headset. Important: L Make sure that the headset is turned on.
