Four Screws Quatre vis Cuatro Tornillos Replacing Belt ➢ Replace belt whenever a burning rubber smell caused by excessive slippage occurs. ➢ Turn off and unplug the vacuum cleaner. ➢ Lay vacuum cleaner on floor with the bottom up and nozzle flat. ➢ Remove nozzle hose from body by (1) pressing in locking tab and (2) sliding up and out of retaining slot (see REMOVING CLOGS, p. 52). Motor Shaft Arbre d'entrainement du moteur Eje del motor Belt Courroie Correa ➢ Remove the four screws from the nozzle cover. Next place the vacuum in the upright position standing on the handle. This will minimize wheel interference when removing nozzle bottom plate. Remove nozzle bottom plate by rotating upward. Agitator Agitateur Agitador CAUTION Motor shaft may be hot. ➢ Lay vacuum cleaner on floor with the bottom up with nozzle flat. ➢ Remove agitator by carefully lifting out. ➢ Remove worn or broken belt. ➢ Clean agitator and the end caps (see CLEANING AGITATOR, p. 48). - 44 -
