Playing discs The display is wrong or play won't start. "TAKE OUT/DISC" appears on the display. The picture does not appear on the TV, when playing DVD or Video CD. CD MANAGER, program and random play cannot be used. The SETUP menu cannot be accessed. You have forgotten your ratings password. The disc may be upside down. % Wipe the disc. Replace the disc if it is scratched, warped, or nonstandard. Condensation may have formed inside the unit due to a sudden change in temperature. Wait about an hour for it to clear and try again. There is a problem with the disc mechanism. (A power failure may have occurred.) The tray will open automatically. Remove the disc from the tray, and after ensuring there is no disc in the tray close it. The unit will make the disc changing noises for a few moments and then it should operate normally. The region number of the disc doesn't match the region number of this unit. (DVD only) front cover Connect the video cable. 8 Set the TV to video input mode. Servicing-Do not attempt to service the unit beyond that described in these operating instructions. Refer all other servicing to authorized servicing personnel. 3. Replacement parts-When parts need replacing ensure the servicer uses parts specified by the manufacturer or parts that have the same characteristics as the original parts. Unauthorized substitutes may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards. 4. Safety check-After repairs or service, ask the servicer to perform safety checks to confirm that the unit is in proper working condition. Maintenance
