Using sound effects Using sound effects DVD VOLUME Enhancing the sound from the center speaker: Center Focus This applies to discs where the dialogue is recorded in the center channel. You can make the sound of the center speaker seem like it is coming from within the television. Press and hold [-C.FOCUS]. Each time you press and hold the button: C FOCUS ON,------.C FOCUS OFF ≥ This does not work when Surround Music (➜ page 12) or Sound Field Control (MOVIE, SPORT or MUSIC) is turned on. ≥ This also works when Dolby Pro Logic II is turned on. If this occurs, turn the sound effect off. ≥ If you turn on Dolby Pro Logic II, Sound Field Control (MOVIE, SPORT or MUSIC) is canceled. Press [SFC]. Each time you press the button: FLAT: Cancel (no effect is added) (factory preset). MOVIE: Use this mode when playing movie software. SPORT: Simulates sound to make you feel like you are at a sports event. MUSIC: Adds surround effects to stereo sources. HEAVY: Adds punch to rock. CLEAR: Clarifies higher sounds. SOFT: For background music. ≥ To check the current setting, press [SFC]. ≥ MOVIE, SPORT and MUSIC are not available when Dolby Pro Logic II is on, or when playing a disc recorded with a multi-channel source. ≥ You can adjust the volume of the surround speaker to get the best surround effect (➜ page 27, Adjusting the volume of each speaker: Speaker level adjustments). You can adjust the amount of bass. The unit automatically selects the most suitable setting according to the type of playing source.
