Setting Up Record Functions Switching Movie Quality (VIDEO Mode) Choose the movie quality from "XTRA" (only with DVD-RAM disc), TINE" and "WY'. It is recommended that you record critical subjects in the "XTRA" or "FINE" when you are using a DVDRAM disc, or in the "FINE" with a DVD-R disc. Press MENU button, choose "VIDL O Mode" or the "Record Functions Setup" menu screen. and then press ti re ►/II button. 2 Choose the desired qu lily mode. and then press the ►/II button. Press the MENU button to end the setting. 0 0 SW Mem quality - Note: • the movie quality setting will be stored in memory even when the DVD video camera/recorder is turned off. • The -VIDL0 Mode" setting will not change even d the DVD , RAM disc is replaced with a DVD-R disc, or vice versa. However, the setting will switch to "FINE- in the following cases: VVhel i the mode is set to"XTI will s a DVD-RAM disc inserted and then the disc is replaced with a DVD-H disc When the mode is sot to -LRCM- with a DVD-R disc inserted and the disc is replaced wilh a DVD-RAM disc, • When using DVD-H disc, you cannot switch the movie qualify while recording on the disc: The DVD video camera/recorder will bo automatically set to the movie quality first used with the disc for recording. • 1 he movie quality setting is effective only during movie recording: the setting will not be displayed during recording of stills. Block-like noise may appear in recorded image, or the outline of subject image is distored under the recording conditions listed below: Pan the DVD video camera/recorder as slowly as possible. (Block noise is likely to appear in the "STD"): • If there is a complicated pattern in background (as in following figure on left) • If the DVD video camera/recorder is moved excessively or quickly • It subject is moving rapidly even when the DVD video camera/recorder is not moving (Image when block-like noise occurs) c 0 (Image without block-like noise)
