Camera Settings Formatting an SD Memory Card/built-in memory Formatting deletes all the data on the SD Memory Card/built-in memory. Be sure to use this camera to format (initialize) an SD Memory Card that is unused or has been used on other cameras or digital devices. • When the SD Memory Card is inserted to the camera, the SD Memory Card will be formatted. To format the built-in memory, be sure to operate after taking out the SD Memory Card. • Do not remove the SD Memory Card during formatting as this may damage the card and render it unusable. • Formatting deletes all the data on the card, including protected images and images recorded with a computer or camera other than this camera. • SD Memory Cards formatted on a computer or device other than this camera cannot be used.
