Messages Messages such as the following may appear on the LCD monitor during camera operation. Compression error Compression of the image you captured has failed. Change the quality/size and try again. No image/sound There are no images/sounds on the SD Memory Card or in the built-in memory. Memory card full Built-in memory full The SD Memory Card or the built-in memory is full and no more images can be saved. Insert a new SD Memory Card or delete unwanted images. (p.23, 116) Change the quality/size and try again. (p.132) Image/sound cannot be You can only record up to 5000 files due to the specifications created of the camera, even when using a large volume SD Memory Card. Delete unwanted files to continue recording. Memory card error Shooting and playback are impossible due to a problem with the SD Memory Card. You may be able to play back the images or sounds on a PC. Card not formatted The SD Memory Card you have inserted is unformatted or has been formatted on a PC or other device and is not compatible with this camera. (p.152) Card locked The SD Memory Card is write-protected. Only menu operation and mode change are possible. Data being recorded This is displayed when you switch to Playback mode while the image is being saved or protect setting or DPOF settings are being saved. The message disappears when saving of an image or setting is completed. Data being processed The image is being recorded on the SD Memory Card or in 8 the built-in memory. The protect setting or DPOF settings is being changed. The movie is being recorded. The image is being processed with digital filter. The movie is being edited. The SD Memory Card or built-in memory is being formatted. Deleting The image or sound is being deleted. Camera cannot play this You are trying to play back an image or sound in a format image and sound not supported by this camera. You may be able to play it back on another brand of camera or PC. Battery depleted The battery is exhausted. Recharge the battery or replace with charged battery. (p.14) Appendix 175
