Utility stitches and practical sewing Fully concealed, sew-in zipper • Insert the zipper foot on the right side. • Baste in the zipper and lay it underneath the presser foot so that the teeth of the zipper run alongside the foot. • Stitch in half of the zipper, leave the needle in the fabric, raise the presser foot and close the zipper. • Now you can continue sewing the seam up to the end of the zipper and sew the cross seam. • Sew the second half of the zipper parallel at the same distance. • Stop after the first half and leave the needle in the fabric. Raise the presser foot and open the zipper. • Now you can finish sewing the seam. 40

Fully concealed, sew-in zipper
Insert the zipper foot on the right side.
Baste in the zipper and lay it underneath the
presser foot so that the teeth of the zipper
run alongside the foot.
Stitch in half of the zipper, leave the needle
in the fabric, raise the presser foot and
close the zipper.
Now you can continue sewing the seam up
to the end of the zipper and sew the cross
seam.
Sew the second half of the zipper parallel at
the same distance.
Stop after the first half and leave the needle
in the fabric. Raise the presser foot and
open the zipper.
Now you can finish sewing the seam.
