DVDs whose ratings exceed the level you set will not play. 1 Press DVD to put the DVD/VCR in DVD mode. DVD light will appear on the front of the DVD/VCR. 2 While playback is stopped, press SYSTEM/MENU. The QUICK SETUP screen appears. QUICK SETUP PLAYER MENU TV ASPECT PROGRESSIVE DOLBY DIGITAL ENGLISH 4:3 LETTER BOX OFF BITSTREAM OK 1 3 Press sor B to select CUSTOM at the top of the menu, then press OK. 4 LANGUAGE AUDIO ORIGINAL SUBTITLE OFF DISC MENU ENGLISH PLAYER MENU ENGLISH OK Press sor B to select the menu, then press OK. 5 (PARENTAL), at the top of STANDBY-ON SEARCH MODE DISPLAY REPEAT REPEAT AUDIO A-B SUBTITLE ZOOM ANGLE SKIP / CH RETURN TITLE CLEAR/RESET SLOW VCR DISC/VCR MENU VCR/TV DVD SYSTEM MENU OK STOP PLAY PAUSE TIMER SET MARKER RECORD SPEED 1 45 89 2 3 67 0 +10 2,8 3-4, 6-7 5 Press the Number buttons to enter your 4-digit password. 6 Press K or L to select PARENTAL LEVEL, then press OK. PARENTAL PARENTAL LEVEL ALL PASSWORD CHANGE OK RATING EXPLANATIONS • ALL - Parental Controls is inactive; all discs can play. • 8 - Adult material • 7 - NC-17 - Not appropriate for children under 17 • 6 - R - Restricted; parental approval required for viewers under 18. • 4 - PG13 Unsuitable for children under 13 • 3 - PG - Parental Guidance suggested. • 1- G - General Audience; recommended for all ages. 7 Press K or L to select a level, then press OK. The rating levels continue on two menu screens. Press K or L repeatedly to move to the next or previous screen to find the rating level you want. After making your selection, the previous menu will appear. The level you selected will appear beside PARENTAL LEVEL. Helpful Hints • When you try to play a DVD whose rating exceeds the level you set, an on-screen message will indicate the DVD cannot play. Remove the DVD, then set PARENTAL LEVEL to ALL. Reload the DVD and begin playback. Some DVDs may let you enter your 4-digit password to begin playback. Follow the on-screen messages as prompted. • You cannot use the default password (4737) to play a DVD.
