ENGLISH 9 Before first use 1 Thoroughly clean the skewer parts and the metal frame with hot soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge or in the dishwasher before you use the rotisserie for the first time. 2 To insert the batteries (two D-cell batteries) into the motor unit, push to open the battery compartment. Note: -- Before inserting batteries into the battery compartment of the equipment, the contacts of both equipment and batteries should be checked for cleanliness and correct positioning. -- If necessary, clean with a damp cloth and dry before inserting. -- It is of extreme importance that batteries are inserted correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -). -- Follow equipment instructions carefully and use the recommended batteries. -- Failure to follow the instructions, which should be available with the equipment, can result in malfunction and damage of the equipment and/or batteries. -- It is advantageous to remove batteries immediately from equipment which has ceased to function satisfactorily, or when not in use for a long period. -- Be sure to switch off the equipment after use. -- Store batteries in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight. -- Batteries which have been cold-stored should be put into use as soon as possible after return to ambient temperature. -- Replace all batteries of a set at the same time. Newly purchased batteries should not be mixed with partially exhausted ones. Batteries of different electrochemical systems, grades or brands should not be mixed. -- Failure to observe these precautions may result in some batteries in a set being driven beyond their normal exhaustion point and thus increase the probability of leakage. 3 Screw the two spit rod parts together and fix the handle by screwing it on the spit rod (Fig. 2). Using the appliance 1 Unfold the metal frame until all four walls are stable and opposite sides are parallel (Fig. 3). 2 Attach the frame onto the base of the grill (Fig. 4). 3 Attach the motor unit on the frame (Fig. 5). Be sure to align the two guiding slots to slide the motor unit securely onto the frame. 4 Slide the screw end of the bearing part along the spit rod to the handle (Fig. 6). To check proper placement, put the end of the spit rod into the hole of the motor unit and the spit rod into the metal frame recesses. The rounding section of the bearing part should fit exactly in the opening of the frame to allow the rod to turn freely. Turn the screw to securely fix the bearing part in place on the spit rod (Fig. 7).
